Beroldingen Castle (Seelisberg)
Beroldingen Castle is in Seelisberg, Canton Uri, at an altitude of approximately 860 meters. It is known as the historic ancestral seat of the noble Beroldingen family with views of Lake Uri and the Reuss Valley.
History+
The first documented mention of Beroldingen Castle dates to around 1500. It served as the ancestral home of the Beroldingen family, who played a role for decades, extending beyond the Uri valley. In contrast to a fortress, the small castle was always designed as a representative country residence.

Today, Beroldingen Castle is privately owned. The chapel, added in 1545, is dedicated to Saint Lawrence. Visitors can see a winged altar, a choir screen, and Rococo stucco work on the ceiling.
