Bau und frühe Nutzung
Das Schloss wurde 1819-1821 durch den Herzog Peter Friedrich Ludwig von Oldenburg erbaut. 1850-1884 wurde ein kleiner Zwischenbau auf der linken Seite des Hauptgebäudes errichtet. Ab 1945 wurde das Schloss durch die französische Besatzungsmacht genutzt. 1995-2002 wurde das Schloss saniert.
