The origins of Booßen Castle date back to 1848, when construction began in the late-classical style. Until 1993, the building served as a nursing home for seniors before finding a new purpose.

Today, Booßen Castle houses a daycare center. A youth club also uses parts of the building, ensuring the castle continues to fulfill a social function in the community.
