Brincke Castle, a former moated castle, is located in Borgholzhausen-Barnhausen with surrounding moats. It is an example of historical architecture in the Gütersloh region.

History+

The origins of Brincke Castle date back to the 13th century, with its first documented mention in 1351. The estate was built by the Lords of Brincke. From 1439, the castle passed into the possession of the von Kerssenbrock family. Between 1674 and 1675, the castle underwent expansion, during which the current manor house was newly constructed. Another expansion phase took place from 1897 to 1898.
