Bruckberg Castle is a historic structure in Lower Bavaria, distinguished by its irregular four-wing complex dating from the 17th century. A prominent keep with a tented roof stands slightly elevated and is connected to the main buildings by a wall.

History+

The history of the site began in 880 with a donation from the later Emperor Arnulf of Carinthia to Count Sighart of Ebersberg, who received the Villa Berga. In the 11th century, a relative of the Counts of Moosburg-Roning-Rottenburg built a castle, likely to protect an Isar crossing mentioned in 1377. From the 12th to the mid-14th century, the castle was owned by the influential Bruckberg noble family, before frequently changing hands. Under Henry the Lion, court sessions were repeatedly held here.
