In the Swiss municipality of Bürglen stands Bürglen Castle, a structure from the 13th century. It once served as the residence for the Barons of Bürglen and includes a keep, an elongated east wing with a stepped gable, and a shorter west wing.

The origins of Bürglen Castle date back to the 13th century when it was built for the Barons of Bürglen. In 1579, the property changed hands and was acquired by the city of St. Gallen. Until 1798, it served as the official residence of the chief bailiff.
