In the center of the market town of Burgpreppach in the Lower Franconian district of Haßberge stands Burgpreppach Castle, an unfinished Baroque complex.

History+

The origins of the site date back to the 12th century, when the Lords of Breitebach (Preppach) resided here, serving as vassals of the Counts of Henneberg. Since the early 14th century, Burgpreppach was owned by the Fuchs family. Until the 18th century, a moated castle stood on the site of the current castle, which was demolished for the new construction. The building of the current Baroque castle began around 1715 under the guardians of the young Johann Philipp Fuchs von Bimbach und Dornheim.
