The origins of the current Chodová Planá Castle date back to 1734, when the Baroque manor was constructed. It presented itself as a two-winged, multi-story building, crowned with a mansard roof, and was surrounded by an extensive park with old trees. After the end of the Second World War in 1945, the then German owners of the castle were dispossessed and expelled, a process legally legitimized by the so-called Beneš Decrees.
