Crollage Castle (Holzhausen)
Crollage Castle is a manor house built in the 14th century in Preußisch Oldendorf in the district of Minden-Lübbecke. It is located about 1.5 km south of the village of Bad Holzhausen in the valley of the Große Aue on the north side of the Wiehen Hills.
Crollage Castle was first mentioned in 1350 as a manor house. It was a fief of Herford Abbey. The first owner was the knight Bertold von Haren. At the beginning of the 16th century, the von Langen family had the castle built in the Weser Renaissance style instead of the existing manor buildings.
From 1623 it was owned by the von Ledebur family, who sold it in 1968 to the agricultural engineer H. Rafflenbeul.
Current Use+
The estate is still used for agriculture today (see Renkhausen Estate). The former manor park is still recognizable.
The Minden-Lübbecke district organizes chamber concerts in the castle garden to promote art and culture in cooperation with the association "Herrenhäuser und ihre Parks im Mühlenkreis" (Manor Houses and their Parks in the Mill District).
