History+

The original castle on this site was expanded into a palace under Dukes Wilhelm IV and Albrecht V. Court architects such as Heinrich Schöttl and Wilhelm Egkl from Munich were involved in the construction of its four wings. Between 1564 and 1566, Hans Wisreutter from Munich furnished the southwest wing with a wooden ceiling, which remains intact to this day.
