Dagsnäs Castle is a historic building on the shores of Lake Hornborgasjön in Sweden. Located about nine kilometers south of Skara.

History+

The origins of Dagsnäs date back to the late 15th century, when a manor farm was established on this site. In the 1770s, the stone main building was constructed while Dagsnäs was owned by court intendant Per Tham. Under his aegis, the place developed into a cultural center in Västergötland. Among other things, Tham had runestones brought to Dagsnäs and erected there. The castle acquired its current appearance in 1874 through a renovation carried out according to designs by architect Helgo Zettervall.
