Dagstuhl Castle

Dagstuhl Castle, in Dagstuhl, Saarland, was erected in the 18th century.
History+
Construction of Dagstuhl Castle took place in 1760 under Count Anton von Öttingen-Soetern-Hohenbaldern, at the foot of the older Dagstuhl Castle ruins. Following the invasion of French revolutionary troops, the estate was leased and later acquired by Baron Wilhelm de Lasalle von Louisenthal. The de Lasalle family resided in the castle until 1959. Octavie de Lasalle (1811–1890), known as the “Painter Countess,” artistically decorated the castle chapel with a Way of the Cross and an altarpiece.
