Dalheim Castle

The earliest written mention of the Dalheim manor dates back to 836, documenting a connection to the royal estate in Rösebeck. It is presumed that the knight's seat already existed at that time. The lower noble family of Dalheim, which gave the settlement its name, resided here. Until 1423, the knight's seat belonged to the Warburg council family Busse, who were related to the von Dalheims. Subsequently, the estate passed into the possession of the Warburg burgmann family von Steinheim. After the Thirty Years' War, the Spiegel zum Desenberg family acquired the property and erected the current castle in 1698.
