Dillich Castle is situated on the northwestern edge of the village of Dillich. Originally emerging from a moated castle, it stands today as a structure of architectural adaptations.

History+

The origins of Dillich Castle date back to 1335, when a moated castle is believed to have stood on this site. The current castle was built in 1361. Until 1858, it was owned by the von Dalwigk family, who already held the judicial office in Dillich as vassals of the Landgrave of Hesse in 1318. Between 1575 and 1591, the castle underwent extensive renovation and was transformed into a three-story rectangular building with a polygonal stair tower.
