In the town of Ditzingen in the Ludwigsburg district is Ditzingen Castle, a structure from the 15th century. It is a two-story construction, with the upper floor built in half-timbered style and crowned by a half-hipped roof. A connecting passage leads to a presumed former outbuilding, making the complex appear as a two-winged structure.

The castle's origins date back to 1420 when the Lords of Gültlingen erected it on a site where a previous castle had stood. In 1543, the complex suffered destruction but was rebuilt just one year later under Württemberg rule. In 1665, the castle changed hands and passed to the Lords of Münchingen.
