Dorfheim Castle

The first documented mention of the Dorfheim estate dates back to 1331, in connection with the Vogtturm in Zell am See. At that time, the Hunt family was also mentioned, who made Dorfheim Castle their seat from 1369 onwards and later called themselves "von Dorf". Members of this family included Hans Hunt, administrator of Lichtenberg, and Wolfgang Hunt, who became administrator of Mittersill in 1469. Wiguleus Hund von Sulzemoos, a descendant, published the first printed history of Salzburg in 1582. In 1601, Josef Hunt undertook renovations. As he had no male heirs, the castle passed to his daughter Maria Jakobe Hunt. Her husband, Johann Albert von Savioli, acquired the castle in 1628. After the decline of the Savioli family, the Stadlmayr family bought the estate in 1660. Through inheritance, it passed in 1719 to a niece of the last Stadlmayr, who was married to Friedrich Ignaz Lürzer von Zechenttal.
