In Calvörde-Dorst, in the Börde district of Saxony-Anhalt, stands Dorst Castle. This structure is distinguished by its dimensions and architectural quality.

History+

The origins of Dorst Castle date back to 1863, when a predecessor building was erected. The current building was constructed between 1922 and 1923 under the aegis of the then estate owners Paul and Margarete Fischer. It presents itself as a two-story clinker building on a substructure. The north side has a show facade flanked by round towers in the style of castle architecture, complemented by an access ramp and a grand staircase. The southern park side also features an elaborate grand staircase. Accents are set by the six sculptures of working farmers on the eaves of the north side, at the base of the Baroque-style mansard roof.
