History+
As early as 1102, a castle belonging to the Lords of Duras stood on this site. This early complex, a dungeon surrounded by water, was passed down through various noble families. After the Lords of Duras, the Walcourts followed in the 13th century, the Damartin de Wafusée at the beginning of the 14th century, and the Oyenbrugge family from 1426 to 1705. The current castle was built between 1787 and 1789 under the direction of architect Ghislain-Joseph Henry for Baron Jean-Joseph-Philippe van der Noot.
