The origins of Dußlingen Castle likely date back to the second third of the 13th century, as evidenced by Hohenstaufen-era ashlar blocks in the ground floor. It was the ancestral seat of the Lords of Dußlingen, a noble family named after the locality since the 12th century, who at times served the Counts Palatine of Tübingen.
