Ebersberg Castle, a historic complex in the Rems-Murr district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, sits atop a mountain spur and now serves as an educational and meeting center for the German Scout Association St. George. The origins of the complex date back to the 12th century, making it a witness to a long and eventful history.

The beginnings of Ebersberg Castle lie in the early 12th century, with its first documented mention in 1226. Originally owned by the noble lords of Ebersberg, the complex frequently changed hands after their extinction around 1300. In 1551, the medieval castle was expanded with a two-wing palace. A devastating fire in 1714 destroyed almost the entire complex. The Cistercian monastery of Schöntal, which had owned it since 1698, had the castle rebuilt in its current Baroque form around 1720 and established a chapel in 1724.
