The Castle of Edelbeuren+
In 1340, Werner von Erolzheim sold Edelbeuren, including its land and subjects, to Ochsenhausen Monastery. As early as 1496, a member of the Erolzheim lordship reacquired the village and built a castle there, which still stands today. Until secularization, Edelbeuren remained part of the knightly lordship of Erolzheim. The castle is now a stately farmhouse. In 1806, Edelbeuren fell to the Kingdom of Bavaria, until it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1810.
