Edesheim Castle is situated in the Southern Wine Route region of Rhineland-Palatinate. Originally conceived as a moated castle, it now serves as a hotel.

History+

The origins of Edesheim Castle date back to before the year 756, when it was built by the Benedictine Abbey of Weissenburg. During the Palatinate War of Succession in 1594, the structure was completely destroyed, necessitating its reconstruction; only the 12th-century water features remained. After the castle lost its significance, it was demolished in 1748.
