Ehrenhain Castle
Schloss Ehrenhain+
The castle can be traced back to the 12th century. Around 1274, Heinrich von Bünau is mentioned as the owner of the Ehrenhain manor. Later followed the noble families von Ende, von Schönberg, von Bose, von Schmertzing and von Pflugk. In 1552, the castle burned down but was rebuilt. In 1893, alterations were made. In 1945, the owners were expropriated and expelled by the communists. Subsequently, part of the castle complex was demolished. The preserved part was renovated after the reunification and a museum was established.
