In the Eichelsdorf district of Hofheim in Lower Franconia, stands Eichelsdorf Castle. Originally a moated castle, it was transformed into a water castle and now serves as a modern rehabilitation center.

History+

The origins of Eichelsdorf Castle lie in a moated castle, which was expanded into a water castle during the Renaissance period. For more than 130 years, the complex served as St. Alfons Monastery, run by the Congregation of the Sisters of the Redeemer from Würzburg.
