Eicherhof Castle in Leichlingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, is a manor house built in the 18th century in the French style.

History+

The Eicherhof estate was constructed in 1762/63 under the patronage of Jacob Wilhelm Behagel Edler v. Hack, who inherited the land from his uncle, the Cologne banker Wilhelm Hack. The latter had operated copper hammers there since 1715, producing blanks for the Düsseldorf mint. In 1811, the Elberfeld merchant Johann Friedrich Wülfing acquired the manor house and its surrounding lands. Wülfing hosted kings such as Jérôme of Westphalia and Frederick William III of Prussia. Through inheritance, Eicherhof passed to his daughter Emma Schniewind and later to her daughters Emma Weyermann and Helene Boeddinghaus.
