Eisbergen Castle is a historic estate in North Rhine-Westphalia. It is situated on the right bank of the Weser River and was owned by noble families for centuries.

History+

The first documented mention of the Eisbergen estate dates back to 1396, when Florecke von Zerssen was named as its owner. The von Zerssen family retained the property until inheritance disputes arose with the von Leuchtmar family in the early 18th century. These disputes lasted over two decades and involved the Imperial Chamber Court. In 1747, the collegiate captain Paulus Andreas Freiherr von Schellersheim acquired the estate as his retirement residence. Under his patronage, the estate complex was redesigned starting in 1747.
