Eppishausen Castle in Erlen, Canton Thurgau, is a structure whose origins date back to the 12th century. It once served as a cultural meeting point for important personalities.

History+

The first documented mention of the castle dates back to 1190. In 1405, it suffered destruction by the Appenzellers while owned by the Lords of Helmsdorf and Bernhausen. In the late 17th century, specifically 1698, the estate passed into the possession of the Benedictine monastery of Muri. During this period, the St. Albans Chapel was also rebuilt. Between 1760 and 1763, the complex was extensively redesigned in the Baroque style.
