Euxinograd Castle
Euxinograd Palace, a former summer residence of Bulgarian tsars, rises majestically on the Black Sea coast. Located near the port city of Varna, it is renowned for its impressive architecture and extensive park grounds, making it a prominent historical landmark in Bulgaria.

The palace's origins trace back to 1880, when Bulgarian Prince Alexander Battenberg I visited the Varna region. Captivated by the natural beauty, he decided to build a summer residence on the ruins of the "Saint Dimitar" monastery. This residence, initially named "Sandrowo," was later renamed Euxinograd. The current name, meaning "City on the Black Sea," was introduced in 1893 by Princess Marie Louise. The complex was built in the Neo-Baroque style according to plans by Austrian architect Viktor Rumpelmayer. Later, the state acquired the residence and gifted it to King Ferdinand I. A well-known part of the estate is the wine cellar, established in 1891 for the royal family.
