A historic moated castle, Eyb Castle, is located in Dörzbach in the Hohenlohe region of Baden-Württemberg. It has remained in private ownership to this day.
History+
The origins of Eyb Castle date back to the 12th century. It was originally a moated castle belonging to the Lords of Berlichingen, who settled in Dörzbach in 1371 and took over local rule from the original Lords of Torcebach. In 1601, the Lords of Eyb acquired the property, which has remained in their possession ever since.

The castle is currently privately owned and inhabited by the Eyb family. The complex includes an inner castle courtyard, enclosed on four sides, as well as a larger outer castle courtyard surrounded by farm buildings.
