Fahrenbühl Castle
Fahrenbühl Castle, a former hunting lodge, is located within a forest area between the Großer and Kleiner Kornberg, near Dörflas in the municipality of Kirchenlamitz and now serves as a hotel.
History+
The locality of Fahrenbühl was once part of the Schwarzenbach an der Saale estate, which came into the possession of the Counts and later Princes of Schönburg from 1706. After the castle in Bug near Weißdorf was destroyed by fire, Prince Karl Ernst von Schönburg-Waldenburg had a simple hunting lodge built in Fahrenbühl in 1886. He and his family preferred to spend the summer months there.
