Fantaisie Palace, a former summer residence, is located in Eckersdorf-Donndorf. It unifies architectural and landscape elements from various eras.

History+

The concept for Fantaisie Palace emerged from the impressions gathered during a trip to Italy by Margrave Friedrich and Wilhelmine of Brandenburg-Bayreuth. Although Wilhelmine passed away in 1758 and Friedrich also died in 1763 before the construction was completed, Friedrich initiated the building in 1761. Their daughter, Princess Friederike, inherited the estate in 1763 and named it Fantaisie. She commissioned Johann Jakob Spindler to complete the palace by 1765. The palace underwent numerous alterations, leaving only a few original elements preserved.
