In Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, stands Schloss Favorite, a baroque pleasure and hunting lodge. Its location offers a direct line of sight to Ludwigsburg Residential Palace.

History+

Duke Eberhard Ludwig commissioned the construction of Schloss Favorite between 1717 and 1723. The plans for the baroque-style building were drawn up by court architect Donato Giuseppe Frisoni. Originally conceived as a pure hunting lodge and summer retreat, it offered a view of the Residential Palace. In 1748, it served as the backdrop for a fireworks display celebrating the wedding of Duke Carl Eugen to Elisabeth Friederike Sophie of Brandenburg-Bayreuth.
