Feilhofen Castle

The origins of Feilhofen Castle date back to the second half of the 16th century, when it was an economic farm of Deutschlandsberg Castle. It came into the possession of the Peuerl family and later Friedrich von Holleneck, who leased it in 1580 to the citizen Feyel, whose name is still preserved in the castle's name. Abel von Holleneck had the farm expanded into a manor. In the second half of the 17th century, it belonged to Johann Baptist Freiherr von Puchbaum and was separated from the Hollenegg dominion before 1695 to form an independent dominion of the Puchbaum family. From 1759, the Counts Gaisruck further expanded the estate.
