Feistritz Castle, a moated castle in eastern Styria, is located near Ilz. Originally built as a manor house, it evolved into a structure that still bears the marks of various epochs.

The origins of Feistritz Castle date back a long way. As early as 1170, a priest from Feistritz was mentioned, indicating that the parish church belonging to the castle already existed. The predecessor of today's castle, a manor house, was reportedly built after 1122 by Hartwig von Reidling. Feistritz frequently changed hands, including the von Reifenstein family and later the Mindorfers, who remodeled the castle around 1570.
