Fellheim Castle, a building whose origins date back to the 16th century, stands in the municipality of Fellheim in Bavarian Unterallgäu. The three-story building with its corner towers and onion domes characterizes the townscape and now serves as a retirement home.

History+

The initial construction of Fellheim Castle took place in 1557 under Sebastian Reichlin von Meldegg, when it was still a fief of the Princely Abbey of Kempten. After its destruction in 1633, the castle was rebuilt starting in 1635. In the second half of the 18th century, it underwent further modifications, and in 1773, the castle chapel, dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk, was newly constructed.
