History+

The origins of Fischhausen Castle lie in an older stone house. In 1578, this was transformed into the two-story residential castle known today, featuring an onion dome. Boing von Waddewarden, a chieftain of the Jeverland region, was the patron of this transformation. Above the two entrance doors are sandstone portals, with the Fischhausen coat of arms and the year 1578 carved into the tower door. The Fischhausen estate once encompassed a total of 14 marshland properties.
