Forstleithen Castle is a historic building located in the Bavarian municipality of Kulmbach.
History+
The origins of Forstleithen Castle date back a long time. A predecessor building at this site was already mentioned in 1591. The current castle evolved from a former hunting lodge, built in the 18th century for Margravine Wilhelmine of Bayreuth. Under her personal supervision, the building was transformed from a hunting lodge into a palace, serving as her summer residence and a place for artistic exchange.
