To be privately owned
Friesenrath Castle

Friesenrath Castle was only built in 1925/26 by Eugen Graf Beissel von Gymnich, but it already has quite a turbulent history behind it. During World War II, the labor service was housed in the castle, and in the last years of the war, the technical department of military aviation. After the war, the castle served as accommodation for homeless families. Attempts to run the castle as a children's home or retirement home were ultimately unsuccessful. Since the 1960s, the restaurant "Schloss Friesenrath" was a good address for the discerning palate. Recently, the castle has found a new owner who wishes to live privately in the stately premises.
