Fullerö Castle
Fullerö Castle is an impressive estate near Västerås, boasting a rich history and unique architectural features. It was likely designed and built by Jean de la Vallée and was once even owned by King Gustav Vasa.
History+
The castle's origins date back a long time, as it was at one point owned by King Gustav Vasa. The current main building, originally made of wood, was constructed in 1656 under the patronage of Chancellor Erik Axelsson Oxenstierna. A comprehensive restoration took place in 1859. Over time, Carl Johan Cronstedt enriched the castle with a significant art collection, which included works by sculptors Johan Tobias Sergel and Jacques-Philippe Bouchardon.
