Yellow House Castle

An animal park, already mentioned in the 17th century, was developed into a summer residence by Count Carl Ludwig starting in 1727. This complex originally featured a central small castle and four pavilions, two of which remain today. A hunting lodge, completed in 1736 by master builder Johann Christian Lüttich, had to be demolished as early as 1865 due to its dilapidated condition. The entire complex was accessed via a star-shaped avenue system. The Yellow House, built in 1746 and situated at the end of the southern avenue, is still preserved.
