Georghausen Castle

Georghausen castle is a moated castle in the district of Georghausen of the municipality of Lindlar, Oberbergischer Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany).
In 1466 the place as well as the castle Georghausen and a mill the first time was mentioned as "a Georghausen" in a document. There the acquisition and the construction of the house Georghausen is described what must have taken place, nevertheless, already before this time.
In 1490/91 a new drawbridge was built for the water castle and the skew-covered house was extended by 1500. Further it was mentioned that in Georghausen a castle chapel was.
In 1830 it was noted in the "topographic-statistical description of the royal-Prussian Rhine province", the knight's seat Georghausen would have a mill and 56 inhabitants.
Since 1951 the castle arrangement serves as a club house with summery open restaurant of a gulf arrangement.
