Gerling Castle (Anröchte)

The origins of Schloss Gerling date back to the period between 1550 and 1600, when the two-story, elongated stone building with its two corner towers was constructed. Originally, the manor was surrounded by a moat. A two-arched bridge with an archway, bearing coats of arms dated 1551 and attributed to Philipp Soldan, displays the emblems of the Archdiocese of Paderborn. The half-timbered upper floor was added more recently, and barrel-vaulted cellars are still preserved in the outbuildings.
