Gieboldehausen Castle, often referred to as a manor house, is a historical building in Lower Saxony. It is in a green area south of the town center of Gieboldehausen and features half-timbered architecture above a massive stone base.

History+

The current building, whose half-timbering is dendrochronologically dated to 1528, was constructed after 1520 under Hans von Minnigerode the Younger. He acquired an estate in Gieboldehausen in 1502 from Hans von Brudenhusen, which likely included the fortified “House on the Wall.” Von Minnigerode was active as a castellan from 1502 and served as bailiff between 1521 an …
