Girsberg Castle (Waltalingen)
Girsberg Castle stands on a hill at the western edge of the valley. From the 13th to the 14th century, it was the seat of the Lords of Girsberg. Since the early extinction of this lineage, Girsberg changed owners an unusually large number of times. From the 16th to the 18th century, the castle was mostly owned by Schaffhausen patricians. The tower dates from the Middle Ages, while the other buildings were constructed between 1756 and 1759, when the then owner Johann Georg Friedrich Im Thurn had the castle restored after a fire. A renovation was carried out in 1920/1921. Girsberg is still privately owned today.
