Gleisenau Castle, a historic structure, is located on the outskirts of the Gleisenau district in the Haßberge region of Bavaria, Germany. It is used as an elementary school and also houses municipal facilities.

History+

Originally, the village of Gleisenau was owned by the Lords of Rotenhan. In 1417, the fiefdom, including the mill, was granted by the Prince-Bishopric of Bamberg to Hans Dynter, a patrician. Heinrich Fuchs von Wallburg acquired Gleisenau from Jörg Kotner in 1465. In 1767, the Fuchs family sold the village and the castle, along with Ebelsbach, to Otto Philipp Erhart Ernst Groß von Trockau.
