Gorgier Castle
North of the village of Gorgier in the canton of Neuchâtel, Gorgier Castle stands on a wooded hill. This complex, whose origins date back to the late 13th century, now primarily presents itself in the Renaissance style.
History+
The first documentary mention of Gorgier Castle dates back to 1299. Its current appearance is largely due to construction work in the 16th century, which gave the structure its Renaissance style. Further alterations and extensions took place during the 19th century, shaping the castle's facade. A notable addition is the round tower built in 1640, which, with its dovecotes amidst later farm buildings, forms an architectural feature.
