Gotisches Haus Castle (Bad Homburg)

The construction of the Gothic House began in 1823 when Landgravine Elisabeth initiated its building for her husband, Landgrave Friedrich VI. The foundation stone was laid on April 17 of the same year. Georg Moller was responsible for the construction management, while the design possibly originated from Jeffry Wyatville. A scaffolding accident in November 1823 led to the suspension of construction, resulting in the death of one worker. From 1860, the property passed into the possession of the landgravial forest administration. After the Prussian annexation of Hessen-Homburg in 1866, part of the building was reserved for the Prussian royal court.
