Gränsö Castle
Gränsö, a historic estate near Västervik in Sweden, has a history stretching back to the Middle Ages. Although repeatedly redesigned and destroyed by fire, it was always rebuilt.
The origins of Gränsö date back to the Middle Ages. In 1807, Olof Johan Risselskiöld erected a main hall made of wood. In the 19th century, the estate underwent several expansions. A renovation began in 1992, but in 1993, a fire destroyed the building. The estate was rebuilt in 1994.
Gränsö is located in the municipality of Västervik, in the district of Västervik, in the Kalmar region of Sweden. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 12 meters above sea level.
Today, Gränsö is privately owned and therefore not publicly accessible.
