Grimminghausen Castle

The first documented mention of the Grimminghausen manor dates back to 1406, when it was named in a deed of sale between the Schade brothers and Hermann von Cobbenrode. After several changes of ownership, the estate passed to the von Plettenberg family in 1613, who sold it to the von Marscherell family in 1656. Later, Grimminghausen came into the possession of the Barons von dem Bottlenberg genannt Kessell zu Neuenhoff and finally the von dem Bussche-Ippenburg genannt Kessell family. In the 17th century, the two-story building and its farmyard were expanded. Renovations were carried out around 1800 and again in 1980/81.
