The construction of Gröbers Castle took place in 1857. The client was the beet sugar manufacturer Ferdinand Knauer, who had the building erected in the Neo-Gothic style. A medallion above the main entrance of the listed building features a sugar beet and the inscription “This house owes its existence to you,” referring to the client's background. The estate is surrounded by a park, which also houses the former laboratory.
